About Us

We Advance the Gospel Through Holistic Mission

A Heart To Reach The Nations

WHO WE ARE

Sojourners Missions International (SMI) is an indigenous, evangelical, cross‑cultural missions organization with a Spirit‑led passion to reach unreached people groups across Africa and beyond with the hope of Jesus Christ. Since 2003, God has faithfully guided us in equipping missionaries, planting churches, strengthening communities, and partnering with believers to advance His Kingdom through evangelism, discipleship, leadership development, medical outreach, and compassionate service.

Our identity is rooted in prayer and expressed through action. We believe the gospel transforms lives most deeply when it is lived out in both word and deed — raising disciples, empowering leaders, and meeting tangible needs in ways that reveal Christ’s love.

Together, we are more than an organization; we are a family of believers united by compassion, conviction, and calling. We exist to raise disciples, transform communities, plant indigenous churches, and bring the Gospel to the nations — one life at a time.

Our Mission

Sojourners Missions International exists to glorify God by advancing the Great Commission. We proclaim Christ across cultures, disciple believers into maturity, and establish indigenous churches that embody compassion, renewal, and sustainable transformation in their communities. We are dedicated to equipping believers to serve beyond cultural and geographical boundaries and to empowering local communities to raise missionaries from within. Through prayer, evangelism, discipleship, and practical initiatives — including water projects, literacy programs, veterinary care, and medical missions — we seek to reveal Christ’s compassion in tangible ways.

Our Vision

Our vision is to see lives transformed and communities renewed through Christ centered and holistic mission. We are called to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ among the nations — reaching the unreached, raising disciples, planting indigenous churches, and advancing community transformation programs that bring hope, healing, and renewal. Guided by prayer and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we seek to advance God’s Kingdom until His glory is declared among all peoples.

Our Story

A Vision Born in 2003

Sojourners Missions International exists to see lives transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. What began as a humble outreach in Kachia has grown into a Spirit-led movement of believers devoted to evangelism, discipleship, and indigenous church planting. Rooted in prayer and guided by the Holy Spirit, we carry Christ’s message across cultures and generations.

Since 2003, our journey has been marked by God’s faithfulness. From prayer gatherings at Mc Royal Hospital Annex — where patients and visitors encountered both compassion and the healing power of Christ — to the establishment of our first mission station in Kadara in 2004, each step has been a testimony of His grace. These milestones have become foundations for reaching the unreached and serving as beacons of hope in local communities.

Over the years, God has opened doors to reach more than forty people groups, plant churches, train missionaries, strengthen local leaders, and transform communities through holistic ministry. These efforts reflect our conviction that true transformation happens when faith meets action — meeting physical needs while revealing Christ’s compassion in practical ways.

Today, Sojourners Missions International operates in three nations, serving as an indigenous, cross-cultural mission agency. We are committed to equipping believers to serve across cultural and geographical boundaries and to empowering communities to raise missionaries from within.

Our vision is bold: to reach the Sahel nations and beyond, proclaiming God’s glory among those who have not yet heard His fame or seen His glory (Isaiah 66:19). We remain steadfast in our calling — to glorify God, serve Him in the power of the Holy Spirit, and carry His message to the ends of the earth.

Sojourners Missions International stands as a living testimony of God’s faithfulness — a family united by compassion, conviction, and a shared mission to bring the gospel to all nations.

Governance of Sojourners Missions International

Sojourners Missions International (SMI) is governed through a layered framework that balances accountability, strategic leadership, and grassroots empowerment.
At the top, the Board of Trustees provides overall oversight, policy direction, and accountability. Supporting them is the Management Committee, which handles administration and ensures that mission activities remain aligned with SMI’s vision and values.

The International Director serves as the chief mission leader, guiding the organization globally. Directly under this office are the National Directors of each country, who provide leadership and contextual direction for mission work within their nations. Together, the International Director and National Directors form the International Council — the highest strategic forum where reports are shared, policies harmonized, and global mission priorities set.

Supporting the National Directors are: the Zonal Directors and Departmental Heads , State Coordinators, Field Coordinators, and the Station Leaders

This governance framework ensures that SMI remains faithful to its calling while empowering leaders at every level — from international vision casting to local community transformation. It reflects our values of indigenous leadership, accountability, and holistic mission.

Our Values

Core Values of Sojourners Missions International

Faithfulness to God’s Word

We uphold the Bible as the inspired, infallible Word of God — our ultimate guide for life, ministry, and mission.

Biblical Mandate

Church planting is rooted in Christ’s command to make disciples of all nations. Each new fellowship becomes a living testimony of His glory among those who have not yet heard of His fame (Isaiah 66:19).

Indigenous Leadership

SMI emphasizes raising local believers to lead churches in their own communities. This ensures sustainability, cultural relevance, and ownership of the gospel message.

Community Transformation

Every planted church becomes more than a worship center — it is a hub for literacy, healthcare, water projects, and holistic development, making the gospel tangible in everyday life.

Cross-Cultural Expansion

Through church planting, SMI extends its reach into the Sahel nations and beyond, establishing communities of faith that multiply across borders

Discipleship Multiplication

Church planting ensures that discipleship is not just individual but communal, creating environments where believers grow together and reproduce spiritually.

Integrity & Accountability

We serve with transparency, humility, and stewardship, ensuring that every resource entrusted to us honors God and blesses His people.

The unfinished task is not a burden but a privilege. Christ has paid the full price, and He will not be satisfied with half. The question is: will we rise as His army, labourers in His harvest, and finish the task?
